The Good: I once again had an awesome Zumba workout. I wore my digital display that goes with my BodyBugg tonight and tracked that I burned 1,000 calories! Amazing! I love Zumba because it is upbeat, fun, and an awesome workout! If you ever are free on Thursday nights, come join us! Send me a message and I will give you all of the information. :) I am considering getting Zumba certified once I get down to my goal weight...we will see!
The other good thing but bad thing is my workout pants were about to fall off me tonight! I kept having to hold them and pull them up during Zumba which was not fun at all. It definitely is a good thing but now I am going to have to go purchase a few smaller pairs. Let me know if you see any bargains on workout pants around town! I don't want to spend a lot of money on them since I will hopefully be out of them in a few months. :)
The Bad: I have not been getting enough sleep this week and I can tell! I am much more agitated over little things and I am very sluggish in the afternoons after school. I just need to find a way to slow down a little which I thought was going to happen once March came around but no, it hasn't slowed down a bit. I am going to force myself to slow down soon by letting some things go even though I don't want to. If I don't let some things go, then I won't be able to take care of myself like I should. Now, I just have to pray about the things I need to let go.
The Ugly: This past weekend in Pawley's was a blast but boy did it set my food habits back. Shawn and I were really good about taking a cooler full of our own foods but we still had a BBQ dinner for the rehearsal and wedding food/red wine after the wedding. I can tell that my body is craving some of those foods I used to eat that I got a sample of last weekend. I am going to go on a mini-detox this weekend to try to get rid of my carb and sugar cravings.

Here I Step-Journey to Jerusalem
The season of Lent is a season of reflection and repentance. Repentance means to turn away from sin-in mind, purpose, and life. One of the greatest shortcomings we have in our society is a lack of self-care. We eat too much, sleep too little and don't get the proper amount of exercise to keep our bodies fit.
I invite you to participate in a walking campaign for the 40 days of Lent. YOu are invited to live prayerfully through this Lenten season and increase your daily activity. Walking two miles a day will allow you to journey the distance (80 miles) from Jesus' hometown of Nazareth to Jerusalem.
I am attaching a calendar to help you for each day of Lent. Sundays you will have a break. Each of the 40 days enables you to spend time with God.
I hope you will consider going on this journey with me for Lent this year. I thought it was a great idea that will help make lasting changes in your life both physically and spiritually. :)

March 7
The Good: Overall, I had a good day. Today is my day "off" for exercise so I always look forward to Mondays. It is also my weight watchers weigh in day and I always enjoy seeing the scale go down "officially" and meeting my goals during the meeting. The other reason I enjoy going to meetings is for the people I meet and share ideas with. I have an amazing support group there and I always look forward to catching up with them weekly. It is nice to have a group of people who understand the difficulties of losing weight and can experience the joy of working hard and losing the unwanted weight.
The Bad: I stressed out a little too much today and ended up eating more dark chocolate than I should have. For some reason it ended up being what I grabbed when I walked through the door this afternoon.
The Ugly: I overate my target today and didn't meet my calories burned target. I guess I will start again tomorrow! :)

Amazed!
This morning, Shawn and I decided to go running around Pawley's Island since we had a wedding to go to tonight. We both walked/ran yesterday before the rehearsal dinner but we didn't have too much time to spare so we only got in a short 20 minute workout but at least it was something before we went and ate BBQ last night for the rehearsal dinner. We enjoyed it but we were looking forward to a long run today.
I couldn't have asked for a more beautiful location to run. The strip of the island we are on is on the south end and the beauty of it is that it has one side of marsh and one side of beach front property. I can't even explain how amazing it is to have both things on either side of you. Absolutely incredible and breathtaking! We didn't know how far we would run this morning but I knew I wanted to get to 2000 calories burned before I quit exercising because I wanted to meet my calorie burned goal on my Bodybugg and having a wedding tonight was not going to help me get to that goal. We both started out walking. After the first few minutes, Shawn took off running and ended up running the WHOLE south end of the island! Incredible! I was so proud of his persistence and determination! He inspires me to constantly try harder and strive for more!
I ended up walking a little bit more and then broke out into a jog. At first, I didn't think I was going to make it because all I could feel was the burning of my calve muscles and glutes. I kept telling myself, "go until you reach the next bush, or go until you reach the next dock, etc." I kept going and going and going until I officially walked/ran for 4 miles! I kept telling myself to keep pushing that I was going to do this and I did! I remember reading a part in Made to Crave that Lysa went for a run one day and asked God to help push her along. She kept trying to reach various mailboxes and she said she wouldn't stop until God made her stop. She kept going and going until she reached a remarkable distance. I forget exactly what the distance was but it was amazing. I felt exactly like her today. I kept pushing along and asking God to help continue to push me and he did. When I finished, I was completely amazed by what I just had accomplished and I was speechless. I didn't know what to say because I had just done something that I thought would never be possible. Isn't God incredible? He reminds me of this daily and I remind myself that he HAS to be a part of my motivation and lifestyle change. I can do ALL things through him and I know he has been with me every step of the way.
I am looking forward to one last run tomorrow morning and take in all the beauty this island has to offer. I am looking forward to our family trip this summer to see how far I have come then! I am amazed by what I have been able to do in 3 short months, I can't imagine what I will be able to do in June! :)

March 1
The Good: I had a decent day today overall and stayed within my calorie allowance. I also had a delicious lunch, Pork Carnitas from...you got it...Skinnytaste.com. I wish I could personally meet Gina who is the blogger and master mind behind the recipes to thank her for creating such amazing recipes. Every recipe I have tried has been amazing. Thank you Gina!!
The Bad: I did not get a chance to get a good cardio workout in today due to some things I had to do afterschool and not feeling well. My allergies are starting to bother me pretty bad. :-/
The Ugly: Stress eating got the best of me after school today. I found yet another hurdle to jump over so I came home grabbed some pita chips and hummus and sat down for a snack. At least it wasn't something that was too bad but I definitely did not proportion out my servings which I should have. I am sure I ate double the servings. Will have to get back on track tomorrow with afternoon snacks and dealing with stress!
