The season of Lent is a season of reflection and repentance. Repentance means to turn away from sin-in mind, purpose, and life. One of the greatest shortcomings we have in our society is a lack of self-care. We eat too much, sleep too little and don't get the proper amount of exercise to keep our bodies fit.
I invite you to participate in a walking campaign for the 40 days of Lent. YOu are invited to live prayerfully through this Lenten season and increase your daily activity. Walking two miles a day will allow you to journey the distance (80 miles) from Jesus' hometown of Nazareth to Jerusalem.
I am attaching a calendar to help you for each day of Lent. Sundays you will have a break. Each of the 40 days enables you to spend time with God.
I hope you will consider going on this journey with me for Lent this year. I thought it was a great idea that will help make lasting changes in your life both physically and spiritually. :)

Thanks, Honey! I had just gotten home from Greenville, and 2 things had struck me: (1)After sitting on a windowsill in a hospital room for 6 days, I'm about to die to walk, and (2)I was trying to figure out something to do for Lent that would bring me closer to God. Then, I read this! Perfect!!!! I can't wait to start tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteHope,
ReplyDeleteYou are such an inspiration to so many people and I too was trying to brainstorm something to do during lent that would bring me closer to God! When I got on Facebook and saw this post it was like an answer to my prayers. I look forward to this challenge and hope that at the end of 40 days I am not only stronger in my faith but also have a stronger and more healthy body. Thank you for taking the time to do this and maybe we could get together for one of the the walks!
This is AWESOME!!! I just am so inspired by you!!!! BIG HUGE HOLY HUGS to you chicka!!! I am delayed in starting this but I am on it like white on rice! :-)
