I am excited about my May blog giveaway! I am giving away one of my favorite cookbooks by Devin Alexander called Fast Food Fixes. This is a fantastic book full of recipes that help you stay away from your typical fast food. All of her meals take 30 minutes or less and are great substitutes that your whole family will LOVE!
All you need to do is leave me a comment on your favorite fast food meal and how you think you could change it to make it better for you. Could you ask for a wheat bun? No cheese? No fries? Extra veggies? Or write your favorite "healthy" fix for fast food.

uhm.....I LOVE Chick-fil-A. I recently started getting fruit instead of fries(wanting your child to eat healthy will do that to you). I love the original sandwich. I could get it on a wheat bun, but I often forget, I do get extra pickles, maybe I could get them not to put any butter on my bun, but I don't know what to do about that awesome chicken. any other way and it wouldn't be a chick-fil-a sandwich!
ReplyDeleteChickfila is pretty much the only fast food I eat! The wheat bun is good, but it's hard for me to give up the original! I try to alternate with the grilled chicken too. Caitlin
ReplyDeleteummm this is hard to pick...but I think I will have to go with a cheeseburger and fries. I think I will change it to a veggie burger on a wheat bun, with veggies added to it. (and a plus is Zoe eats veggie burgers but not hamburgers) and sweet potato fries baked in the oven.~Ashley T.
ReplyDeleteI am obsessed with Mexican food and normally would love to eat a basket of chips and salsa and a burrito at Monterreys but those calories can add up so my healthy fix for that is actually a fast food restaurant. Taco Bell has a fresco menu and it is basically just seasoned grilled chicken with pico de gallo and lettuce.. Very good and refreshing and also not that bad for you! The fresco ranchero chicken taco is only 170 calories which isn't that bad for fast food! -allie
ReplyDeleteI love chick fila wrap...I only eat half and dont do the dressing..I wish chick fila would have different sides, dont really even like the fries and the fruit has something weird on it, I guess to keep it fresh but I hate the taste
ReplyDeleteAt McDonalds I like to order the grilled chicken sandwich with lettuce and tomato NO MAYO! I also order a side garden salad with Newmans Own Fat Free dressing. I also like to dip my sandwich in the hot mustard for a little flavor... NO FRIES!!!

Like the others, I love me some chick-Fil-A. I have started getting the grilled sandwich, which is actually REALLY good, and the fruit instead of fries. And, as un-Southern as it may sound, Chick-Fil-A has really good unsweet tea! I also LOVE their Diet Lemonade. The regular is too sweet for me now!
ReplyDeleteMy biggest down fall and threat is ice cream. Instead of heading to Coldstone these days I head to TCYB and get a small lowfat yogurt to chill out on. Just awesome.
ReplyDeleteThe Diet Lemonade and the fruit cup and Chick-fil-a are the best. Not sure why my mind is so tricked Into always getting a Coke, fries and Chick-fil-a sauce! Slowly making changes though and the journey has just begun
